Thinking and Inking

I have more books than friends.

CR: The Book of Disquiet by Fernando Pessoa

If you ever want to figure out what goes on inside my brain when it’s not clogged with essay-related cotton wool, then read this. The Book of Disquiet will blow your mind, realise how mundane your entire existence is, and then promptly wonder why the hell you can’t write like Pessoa. Under the narrator Bernard Soares, with… Read More CR: The Book of Disquiet by Fernando Pessoa

Inside my Mind: The Lit Student

A-Level English Literature is a whirlwind. If you’re not spending at least thirty percent of the lesson debating the nature of your existence and the restraining nature of society, are you even studying English Literature? Admittedly, sometimes it is a little bit shit. Despite the fact that I’ve only been in this class for under two… Read More Inside my Mind: The Lit Student

I know the effect is somewhat damaged by the 'FOH - Copy' on the front, but beggars can't be choosers, and this was delivered from the hands of Robert Icke himself, so I'm not complaining. A production that changed the way I think of theatre, and the text is well worth a read regardless of whether you've seen it. Another good read is my latest blog post, about dystopian typicality, 1984 and The Handmaid's Tale. I'm new to this bookstagram malarkey, bear with me and my dodgy editing skills in a desperate attempt to find a Unique Aesthetic and never quite succeeding. The Handmaid's Tale is the only book I've not revised thus far, and it's unlikely that I'll start this weekend. Eerily prescient, yadda yadda yadda. The best of Atwood's novels thus far.
bookstagramming during exam season is probably a really shitty decision, but I'm back . I love Margaret Atwood, love the silk jumpsuit making up the background, bloody hated this book. Didn't even finish it. Full review on the blog soon. Probably.
